Privacy Policy
This is the shortest honest privacy policy we could write — because there isn't much to say.
Backlog Zero does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry, and no account system. Everything you add to the app — your games, sessions, notes, goals — stays in a file on your own computer and goes nowhere else.
Your library data is stored locally as a file on your computer. Backlog Zero reads and writes to this file directly. No copy of your data is ever sent anywhere by the app itself.
If you choose to export your library using the built-in export feature, that file goes wherever you choose to save it — your machine, a USB drive, a personal cloud backup. That's your decision, not ours.
Certain features in Backlog Zero connect to external services to function. These connections are always initiated by you — they only happen when you configure a platform sync or use a feature that requires them. Backlog Zero does not share any personal information with these services beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request.
The third-party services involved are:
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you choose to connect.
Backlog Zero does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the app collects no data at all, this is not a practical concern — but we mention it for completeness.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app introduces optional analytics or cloud features — this page will be updated and the date at the top will reflect when. Any such changes would be opt-in, not opt-out.
If you have questions about this policy or how the app handles data, the best place to ask is the GitHub repository. Once the repo is public, issues and discussions are open.
